Ribbed scarf
You will
need:
7mm needles
Chunky yarn
Tapestry needle
Cast on
using 7mm needles and chunky yarn
22 stitches for toddler 4inches wide
26 stitches for child 5inches wide
32 stitches for adult 7inches wide
42-50 stitches for extra wide adult 10 inches wide
Increase
stitches to make wider, keep number of stitches an even amount.
Row 1 – slip
1, *k1, p1, repeat until end of row.
Repeat row 1
until reached desired length =
35 inches for toddler 95grams 140m/156yards
40 inches for child 107grams 147m/160yards
60 inches for adult 420grams 588m/644yards
70 inches extra long scarf 560grams 760m/832yards
You can do
this by knitting extra length to your scarf
This is a
great if you forget or have lost your gloves or you just need that extra
warmth.
knit an extra
6 inches for toddler
8-10 inches for child
18 inches for adult
18 inches extra-long scarf
Fold over each
end and sew along the seam to create a pocket.
For
toddler fold
3-inch pocket each end
child fold 4-inch
pocket each end
adult fold 9- inch pocket each end
you can make
the pockets bigger or smaller to suit your needs.
Cast off and
weave in the ends.
