Crochet granny rainbow blanktet

Rainbow Blankets

Granny Stripe Blanket

Size: 25x25 inches and 35x35 inches

5.00mm hook

Pattern in UK Terms

(This pattern is a multiple of 3 plus an extra 2) when chaining to the required size.

Normally it is 5 chains per inch. The 25x25 inch blanket is roughly 125 chains and for the 35x35 it is roughly 175. The best way to check your gauge is to chain 5 and measure with a tape measure.

Depending on your tension this could alter the chains by either increasing by 1 if you tension is tight or decease by 1 if your tension is lose.

Start with either Red or Rosie Pink wool and chain either 125 or 175 chains.

Row 1:Beginning in the 2nd chain from the hook, work 1 dc in each stitch to the end.

Row 2: Chain 3 (counts as 1 tr), then work 1 tr into the stitch at the base of the chain-3 you just made. Your next lot of trebles will go in the third stitch along, miss two stitches, then work 3 tr in the next stitch.* Miss two stitches, then work 3 tr in the next st* Repeat between ** all the way along the row until THREE stitches remain.

Miss two stitches, then work 2 tr's into the last stitch. Do NOT fasten off. Turn.At the end of this row, you should have 2 tr at the start, then 2 tr at the end.

Row 3:Chain 3 (counts as 1 tr).For this row, you will be working your stitches out of the spaces between the treble-groups of the previous row.

You will continue to do this on each row until the size you need.

For rows 4 & 5: Orange wool

Rows 6 & 7: Yellow wool

Rows 8 & 9: Green Wool

Rows 10 & 11: Blue wool

Rows 12 & 13: Indigo wool

Rows 14 & 15: Violet wool

Continue this colour change until the end

To finish off the blanket you can either do a white boarder or dc another round of each colour.
