Twisted rib ear warmer

 

Twisted rib ear warmer

Lovely ear warmer pattern that is stretchy and comfortable to wear. Due to the stretch, I would advise to measure your head and adjust length accordingly.

You will need: 6.5mm needles, chunky yarn, cable needle, tapestry needle

Cast on using 6.5mm needles and chunky yarn. (If you are a loose knitter, then reduce your needle size to a 6mm.)

              14 stitches for baby 21grams

              16 stitches for toddler 27grams

              18 stitches for child 41grams

              20 stitches for adult 44grams 

              24 stitches for extra wide adult 47 grams

Increase stitches to make wider, keep number of stitches an even amount. I knitted the above ear warmers using paintbox simply chunky yarn, you can use any chunky yarn you like.

Row 1: *k1, p1 repeat from * across row

Repeat this row until it measures

14-16 inches for baby

17 inches for toddler

18 inches for child

19inches for adult

Cast off loosely leaving a long tail for sewing. Turn one end of the ear warmer over and sew the ends together using the tail of yarn.

Seeded stitch twisted ear warmer

 

Seeded stitch twisted ear warmer

Lovely ear warmer pattern that is stretchy and comfortable to wear. I would advise you to measure your head and adjust length accordingly.

Cast on using 6.5mm needles and chunky yarn

              11 stitches for baby 23-29grams

              13 stitches for toddler 36grams

              15 stitches for child 42grams

              17 stitches for adult 46grams

              21 stitches for extra wide adult 75grams

Increase stitches to make wider, keep number of stitches an odd amount. I knitted the above ear warmers using paintbox simply chunky yarn, you can use any chunky yarn you like.

Row 1 – slip 1, *k1, p1, repeat until end of row.

Repeat row 1 until reached desired length =

                                           14-16 inches for baby

                                           17 inches for toddler

                                           18 inches for child

                                           19 inches for adult 

Cast off leaving a long tail.

Fold the ear warmer in half lengthways.

   

      

        

    

Twist one of the edges 180 degrees and insert one edge into the other. Sew securely making sure you sew through all 4 edges, using the long tail you left. Unfold and lay flat.
