Twisted Fisherman’s rib ear warmer

Lovely ear warmer pattern that is very stretchy and comfortable to wear. Due to the stretch, I would advise to measure your head and adjust length accordingly.

Cast on using 7mm needles and chunky yarn

              10 stitches for baby 23-29grams

              12 stitches for toddler 36grams

              14 stitches for child 42grams

              16 stitches for adult 46grams

              22 stitches for extra wide adult 75grams

Increase stitches to make wider, keep number of stitches an even amount. I knitted the above ear warmers using paintbox simply chunky yarn, you can use any chunky yarn you like.

k1b= knit 1 stitch below

Row 1 – slip 1, *k1, p1, repeat until end of row.

Row 2- slip 1, *k1b, p1, repeat until last stitch, k1

Repeat row 2 until reached desired length = 14-16 inches for baby

                                           17 inches for toddler

                                           18 inches for child

                                           19 inches for adult 

Cast off leaving a long tail.

Fold the ear warmer in half lengthways.

    

Twist one of the edges 180 degrees and insert one edge into the other. Sew securely making sure you sew through all 4 edges, using the long tail you left. Unfold and lay flat.
