Medium preemie

You will need:

3.5mm needles

4mm needles

9grams dk yarn

 

Abbreviations

k- knit

p-purl

K2tog = knit 2 stitches together

Cast on 54 stitches using dk yarn and 3.5mm needles

Rows 1-3: *k1, p1 repeat from * until end of the row.

Rows 4-6: *p1, k1 repeat from * until end of the row

Repeat rows 1-6 once more, change to 4mm needles

Repeat rows 1-6 until the hat measures 3 inches from cast on.

 

Decrease

Row 1: *k1, p1, k1, p1 k2tog, repeat from * until end of the row

Row 2: p1, *k1, p1, k1, p2 repeat from * until last 4 stitches, k1, p1, k1, p1

Row 3: *k1, p1, k1, k2tog repeat from * until end of the row

Row 4: p2, * k1, p3 repeat from * until last 2 stitches, k1, p1

Row 5: *k1, p1, k2tog repeat from * until end of the row

Row 6: p1, *k1, p2 repeat from * until last 2 stitches, k1, p1

Row 7: *k1, k2tog repeat from * until end of row

Row 8: purl

Row 9: k2tog, repeat until end of row

Cut off a long tail and thread through remaining stitches. Pull tight and sew down seam. Fold up brim.
