You will need:

4mm needles

Yarn needle

Preemie 150g-200grams of dk yarn 492yards

Baby 250-300grams of dk yarn 820yards

Cot 350-400grams of dk yarn 1150 yards

 

Abbreviations:

k- knit

p- purl

measures when completed-

preemie: 21x22inches

Baby:27x31 inches

Cot: 38x40inches

Cast on 119 stitches for preemie, 149 stitches for baby, 209 stitches for cot blanket.

Rows 1-21: knit

Rows 22 & 24: k10, purl until last 10st, k10

Row 23 and alternative rows: knit

Row 26: k10, p9, *k1, p9, repeat from * until last 10st, k10

Row 28: k10, p8, k3, *p7, k3, repeat from * until last 18st, p8, k10

Row 30: k10, p8, k1, p1, k1, *p7, k1, p1, k1, repeat from * until last 18st, p8, k10

Rows 32 & 34: k10, purl until last 10st, k10

Row 36: k10, p4, k1, *p9, k1, repeat from * until last 14st, p4, k10

Row 38: k10, p3, k3, *p7, k3 repeat from * until last 13st, p3, k10

Rows 40 & 42: k10, p2, k5, *p5, k5, repeat from * until last 12st, p2, k10

Row 44: k10, p3, k1, p1, k1, *p7, k1, p1, k1, repeat from * until last 13st, p3, k10

Rows 46 & 48: k10, purl until last 10st, k10

Repeat rows 25-48 5 more times for preemie, 8 more times for baby and 12 more times for a cot blanket.

Knit 21 rows and cast off.

weave in the ends using a yarn needle.
