Materials: For preemie size blanket 250grams/752yards of paintbox simply dk yarn, baby size blanket 360grams/1087 yards of dk yarn and for cot size 400grams/1208 yards of dk yarn.

Tools: 4mm knitting needles, scissors and yarn needle

Blanket size when completed:  preemie 24x25in or 59x61cm, baby 34x35in or 86x88cm and cot 42x42in or 105x106cm

Abbreviations in uk terms:

K=knit

p= purl

St= stitches

*=repeat

Gauge/tension: 23stitches and 35 rows = 4x4inches or 10x10cm

Baby / Cot 173sts 

Large Cot 225sts

using 4mm needles and dk yarn

Rows 1-21: knit

Row 22: k10 * p23, k3 repeat from * until last 7 stitches k7

Row 23 and alternative rows: knit

Row 24 k10 *p5, k12, p6, k3 repeat from * until last 7 stitches k7

Row 26: k10 *p4, k11, p1, k2, p5, k3 repeat from * until last 7 stitches k7

Row 28: k10 *p3, k13, p1, k2, p4, k3 repeat from * until last 7 stitches k7

Rows 30 & 32: k10 *p3, k13, p2, k2, p3, k3 repeat from * until last 7 stitches k7

Rows 34 & 36: k10, *p4, k11, p3, k2, p3, k3 repeat from * until last 7 stitches k7
