Cast on 78 stitches using 4mm needles and dk yarn
Rib stitch for 8 rows
K1, p1 until end of the row
Row 9: *p2, k4, repeat from * to the end of row
Row 10: *k2, p1 repeat from * to the end of row
Repeat these 2 rows until the hat measures 5.5
inches from beginning.
Decrease:
Row 1: k4, k2tog repeat until end of row.
Row 2: purl
Row 3: knit
Row 4: purl
Row 5: k3, k2tog, repeat until end of row.
Row 6: purl
Row 7: k2, knit 2 together, repeat until end of
row 8: purl
Row 9: k1, k2 tog, repeat until end of row.
Row 10: purl.
Row 11: knit 2 tog, repeat until end of row.
Cut length of yarn leaving a tail of yarn for sewing
Using a tapestry needle thread through the remaining stitches, draw them together
and sew up seam, using the tails of yarn into the work.

using 4mm needles and dk yarn
