Preemie blanket - 115 stitches 

baby blanket  - 145 stitches 

Cot blanket - 185 stitches 

using 4mm needless and dk yarn

Rows 1-11: knit

Row 12: k5, *p5, k5, repeat from * until last 5 stitches, k5

Rows 13: knit

Row 14: k10,  *p5, k5, repeat from * until last 10 stitches, k10

Row 15: knit

Repeat rows 12-15 until you have reaches the length desired

knit 11 rows and cast off. weave in the ends.
