You will need:

4mm needles

200grams Of Dk yarn or 606yards for preemie

300grams of dk yarn or 909yards for baby

450grams of dk yarn or 1360yards for cot

Yarn needle

 

Abbreviations:

k- knit

p- purl

Measures when completed- preemie 24x22inches

                                                   Baby 34x34 inches

                                                   Cot 44x 44inches

Cast on 115st for preemie, 163st for baby and 211st for cot blanket  

Rows 1-21: knit

Rows 22, 24 & 26: k10, p11, *k1, p11 repeat from * until the last 10st, k10

Row 23 and alternative rows: knit

Row 28: k10, *p11, k1, p5, k1, p5, k1 repeat from * until last 9st, k9

Row 30: k10, *p11, k1, p4, k3, p4, k1, repeat from * until last 9st, k9

Rows 32 & 34: k10, *p11, k1, p3, k5, p3, k1 repeat from * until last 9st, k9

Row 36: k10, *p11, k1, p4, k1, p1, k1, p4, k1 repeat from * until the last 9st, k9

Rows 38, 40 & 42: k10, p11, *k1, p11 repeat from * until the last 10st, k10

Row 44: k21, p1, *k11, p1 repeat from * until the last 21st, k21

Rows 46, 48 & 50: k10, p11, *k1, p11 repeat from * until last 10st, k10

Row 52: k10, *p5, k1, p5, k1, p11, k1 repeat from * until last 9st, k9

Row 54: k10, *p4, k3, p4, k1, p11, k1 repeat from * until the last 9st, k9

Rows 56 & 58: k10, *p3, k5, p3, k1, p11, k1 repeat from * until the last 9st, k9

Row 60: k10, *p4, k1, p1, k1, p4, k1, p11, k1 repeat from * until last 9st, k9

Rows 62, 64 & 66: k10, p11, *k1, p11 repeat from * until last 10st, k10

Row 68: k21, p1, *k11, p1 repeat from * until last 21st, k21

Repeat rows 21-68 2 more times for preemie size, 4 more times for baby size and 6 more times for cot size blanket.

Knit 19 rows

cast off and weave in the ends using the yarn needle.
