Crochet granny rainbow blanktet

Rainbow Blankets

Granny Stripe Blanket

Size: 25x25 inches and 35x35 inches

5.00mm hook

Pattern in UK Terms

(This pattern is a multiple of 3 plus an extra 2) when chaining to the required size.

Normally it is 5 chains per inch. The 25x25 inch blanket is roughly 125 chains and for the 35x35 it is roughly 175. The best way to check your gauge is to chain 5 and measure with a tape measure.

Depending on your tension this could alter the chains by either increasing by 1 if you tension is tight or decease by 1 if your tension is lose.

Start with either Red or Rosie Pink wool and chain either 125 or 175 chains.

Row 1:Beginning in the 2nd chain from the hook, work 1 dc in each stitch to the end.

Row 2: Chain 3 (counts as 1 tr), then work 1 tr into the stitch at the base of the chain-3 you just made. Your next lot of trebles will go in the third stitch along, miss two stitches, then work 3 tr in the next stitch.* Miss two stitches, then work 3 tr in the next st* Repeat between ** all the way along the row until THREE stitches remain.

Miss two stitches, then work 2 tr's into the last stitch. Do NOT fasten off. Turn.At the end of this row, you should have 2 tr at the start, then 2 tr at the end.

Row 3:Chain 3 (counts as 1 tr).For this row, you will be working your stitches out of the spaces between the treble-groups of the previous row.

You will continue to do this on each row until the size you need.

For rows 4 & 5: Orange wool

Rows 6 & 7: Yellow wool

Rows 8 & 9: Green Wool

Rows 10 & 11: Blue wool

Rows 12 & 13: Indigo wool

Rows 14 & 15: Violet wool

Continue this colour change until the end

To finish off the blanket you can either do a white boarder or dc another round of each colour.

Crochet rainbow booties

Rainbow Booties

Size: Newborn – 0- 3 months old

3.00mm hook

Pattern in UK Terms

Start by chaining  9 st  (When starting a new round the pattern asks you to chain 1. This chain 1 never counts as a stitch)

Row 1: 3xhtr into the 2nd ch from hook, htr into the next 6 chains, you will have one chain remaining. 6htr into this last chain (this creates the round front of the boot sole) now work a htr into each of 6 chains on the opposite side of the foundation chain. 3xhtr into the last ch and then join with a Sl St to top of the first htr you made. (24sts)

Row 2: Ch 1. 2xhr into each of the first 3 sts, htr into each of the next 6 sts, 2xhtr into each of the next 6 sts, htr into each of the next 6 sts, 2xhtr into each of the last 3 sts. Join with a Sl St to top of the first htr you made. (36 Sts)

Row 3: Ch 1. *2xhtr into 1st st, htr into 2nd st. (repeat from * 2 more times). Work a htr into the next 6 sts. **2xhtr into the 13th st, htr into the 14th st (repeat from ** 5 more times). Row 4: (Change to Red or Rosie Pink wool) Ch 1. Work a htr into the back loops only of the 48sts around the sole of the boot. Working into the back loops will create a ridge which helps to shape the boot.  Change to Orange wool and join with Sl St to first htr (48 Sts)

Row 5: Ch 1. We are now going to start to reduce our sts. htr into first 12 sts. *htr (13th st) 2xhtrtog (14th and 15th) repeat from * 7 times. htr into the last 12 sts. Change to Yellow wool and join with Sl St to top of first htr (40 Sts)

Row 11: Ch1. htr into each st joining with a sl st to first htr. (26sts) Fasten off.

Row 12: With the front of the boot facing you identify the middle two sts. Attach White wool to the st to the left of these two sts. (the two sts in the middle will remain unworked for now) Ch1 and DC into the same stitch. Dc into next stitch. HDC into the next 20 sts, Dc into the last 2 sts (this will leave the 2 sts unworked at the front of the boot) (24sts)

Row 13: Ch1 and turn. Dc into same st and SC into next st. htr into next 20 sts, Dc into last 2 sts. (24sts)
